THE DOE RUN COMPANY Environmental Engineer/Scientist - ENVIR01636-00001 in Boss, Missouri

Do you have at least 3 years of experience in environmental permitting and compliance? The Doe Run Company is seeking an Environmental Engineer to support environmental compliance as a subject matter expert in environmental regulations. The Environmental Engineer will work with EHS and operations staff to coordinate projects, obtain permits, and design processes to facilitate environmental compliance. This position is located in the heart of the beautiful Mark Twain National Forest in Boss, MO.Responsibilities:Obtain environmental permits for company projects including the following: determination of permit applicability, preparation of permit applications and modification submissions, negotiation of permit terms, and preparation of facility specific plans as required by permit and regulation.Interact with regulators, facility staff, and facility leadership as a subject matter expert for environmental regulations and requirements in order to facilitate site compliance.Keep informed of and communicate as required, new and emerging environmental regulations that do or could pertain to the company.Develop and conduct employee training to support environmental stewardship and compliance.Evaluate and develop site practices and procedures to continuously improve environmental compliance and stewardship.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Education and Experience:Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental permitting and compliance.Environmental permitting experience (Air, Water, RCRA) preferred.Environmental reporting experience (EIQ, TRI, DMR, Greenhouse Gas, Tier II) preferred.Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Science or other related field.Valid, current drivers license.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes.Regulatory research, technical writing of permitting documents.Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.Experience with AutoCAD preferred.Budgeting experience preferred.Based in St. Louis, The Doe Run Company is a privately held natural resources company and one of the largest integrated lead producers in the Western Hemisphere.
