Lead Engineer – Refrigeration Research and Development
This person will lead the development and optimization efforts around refrigeration sub-systems to support new product introduction efforts within Portfolio Solutions Business Units.They will innovate new sub-system designs incorporating new and disruptive technologies to turn into new business for HussmannUsing their innovative thinking and processes to develop new technologies, sub-systems and products to deliver on the Hussmann Promise of continuously providing the most customer-focused solutions in the food retailing industry.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop new refrigeration sub-systems related to compressors, refrigerants, coils, motors, air movement technologies, defrost technologies, condensing units and other related sectors.• Optimize existing sub-system designs and applications for existing products to reduce cost and improve Hussmann margins.• Develop and evaluate new vendor components and technologies for use in Hussmann refrigeration sub-systems.• Develop new refrigeration technologies from early readiness levels through demonstration phases and new product development phases to drive business growth.• Develop IOT and other “SMART” sub-systems to feed into Hussmann IOT platform• Work with Controls and Electronics Sub-System Platform team members to improve integration of controls into refrigeration sub-systems.• Work with University, National Labs and other similar entries to turn refrigeration technology concepts into marketable refrigeration products.
