AMEREN SERVICES COMPANY Corrosion Control Technician in Cape Girardeau, Missouri

A. Job Overview * Perform cathodic protection inspections in the field including pipe to soil readings, rectifier readings, bond readings and instant-off surveys. Monitor cathodic protection inspection schedules and performs all work within the required time limits. Maintain all cathodic protection installation, inspection, and maintenance information including the cathodic protection maps and records. * Perform troubleshooting and identification of cathodic protection deficiencies. Develop solutions and coordinate construction activities required to maintain adequate cathodic protection levels and mitigate cathodic protection deficiencies install test sites, anodes, bonds, and rectifier installations. Review gas engineering designs for incorporation of all cathodic protection requirements. * Education Requirements * High School diploma or GED, required. * Successful completion of a math proficiency test i.e. Richland College math placement test or completion of high school algebra with a grade of a C or better, or equivalent, required. * One year experience as a Certified Gas Journeyman or three 3 years' equivalent work experience performing gas distribution, cathodic protection, or equivalent work. * Job Requirements * Must be able to read and analyze electrical prints and schematics; must have strong computer skills Outlook, Word, Excel and the ability to learn and use Company 's Gas Compliance Software and related hardware; must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to work independently for extended periods in the field for long hours in all weather conditions and walk over rough terrain; must be available for emergency call-outs and overtime; and must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. * Post-Selection Training Requirements * The Corrosion Control Technician CCT position will require the successful applicant to: * Successfully complete the provided NACE CP1 Cathodic Protection Tester certification course, or equivalent, within two 2 years of being awarded the position and maintain this certification. * Successfully complete any two 2 provided Purdue University Underground Corrosion Short Courses, or equivalent. * Successfully complete all provided Company Missouri operator qualification requirements for corrosion control.
