Electrical Engineer

Contract position: IMMEDIATE NEED!!....Engineering client is looking for an Electrical Engineer with 3-20 years of relevant experience performing AC calculations for electrical substations. This is a 3 month contracts assignment in St. Louis that could turn into a long term contract position, especially if the person has experience with Substations.

Responsibilities for the Electrical Engineer

  • Your main responsibility will be to perform AC calculations for a fleet of electrical substations

  • Review the original substation designs and then analyze the existing condition of these substations

  • Calculate all of the AC loads within these substations and then verify that the system is up to the client's current standards

  • Write a report of your findings to be reviewed by your internal Engineers and then the customer

Requirements for the Electrical Engineer

  • You need 3-20+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer involved in AC equipment and system studies

  • BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering is needed

  • You need experience calculating the AC loads within electrical substations or similar facilities

  • You need experience with major electrical equipment, such power transformers, power circuit breakers, control house, and other high-voltage substation related materials

  • Experience performing relay coordination, grounding, load flow, short circuit, and stability & power quality studies for high voltage substations is a PLUS
