Sample Prep Specialist
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Sample Prep Specialist, are to:
Assist the Regulatory sample prep function, executing multiple material preparation lab processes in a medium throughput lab setting under tight timelines within an ISO 9001 (2015 certified quality program);
Conduct routine to technically more diverse lab processes and activities that require the application of specialized scientific lab techniques;
Contribute to the accuracy and integrity of company-critical lab processes that significantly impact quality Regulatory research for submission to global agencies;
Be a trainer for 3rd party contractors, to ensure competency at a high-quality level;
Interact with other departments as internal customers;
Be responsible for some lab equipment, including maintenance and lab areas;
Demonstrate knowledge of specialized laboratory and scientific techniques;
Be responsible for troubleshooting moderate to extensive problem solving requiring original thought;
Contribute to the compliance with Bayer Crop Science safety, BioSafety and stewardship standards and traceability through appropriate quality management and information systems.

Non-degreed with at least eight years of relevant experience or Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences or similar with at least one year of experience;
Demonstrated ability to executing various routine lab processes in a high throughput setting under tight timelines;
Be able to train contractors and act as model of high-quality process delivery;
Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements for USDA, EPA, regulated biotech and chemistry products and working knowledge of GLP Quality Management Systems and/or ISO quality systems;
Capable of understanding and participating in lab processes for moderate to extensive problem solving;
Has a more complete understanding of at least seed or sample handling related technical area;
Works Independently with minimal supervision;
Demonstrates knowledge of specialized laboratory and scientific techniques;
Demonstration of high levels of value and integrity;
Execute responsibilities with knowledge, accuracy, persistence, resilience and creativity seeking to work both independently and collaboratively.
