ABRA Auto Body & Glass Production Manager in Florissant, Missouri


The Production Manager is responsible for managing the repair process of vehicles from beginning to end. Direct and lead the production and technicians to ensure high quality repair. Recognize and remove hurdles to maximize technician touch time.


  • Manages technician team’s including payroll and performance management in conjunction with Gm.

  • Responsible for directly managing several direct reports providing day-to-day work direction, and overall coaching, mentoring, performance management and development of direct reports.

  • In conjunction with the General Manager, creates the “Daily Plan” including production plan, the movement of vehicles between stages after QC process. Responsible for adjusting the plan as needed throughout the day to continue to achieve 4hrs per day on repairs.

  • Assign vehicles to technicians with-in 30 minutes of vehicle arrival and according to each employee’s skills, experience and capabilities.

  • Meet with each technician daily to discuss work assignments and schedules creating a plan of accountability and time driven completions for each stage of production.

  • Monitor work quality and provide day-to-day feedback and coaching to technician staff creating a team environment for both body & paint.

  • Provide input into hiring decisions and keeps General Manager apprised of staff performance levels and issues.

  • Responsible for ensuring that all repairs are completed correctly/accurately the first time, on time in adherence with Abra’s quality standards using Alldata for all repairs mechanical, structural and disassembly.

  • Perform quality control checks before and after the vehicle is painted, test weld and weld photos in CCC for all weld on panels Mig and Resistant Welding. Serves as a backup for performing final quality control checks including road test before delivery of vehicle owner.

  • Conduct production walks throughout the day verifying times and actions per the ‘daily Plan”

  • Consistently utilize all required safety equipment, adheres to all requirements for hazardous waste disposal and participate in monthly safety meetings.

  • Keep personal work area organized and returns tools, materials and equipment to designated areas.

  • Must have the ability to coach “Lean” production techniques to production staff and have a working knowledge of the principles of 5S.

  • Perform other duties as required to successfully meet the needs of the business



Minimum of 4-6 years of technical experience in collision repair. Or estimating


High school diploma or GED

Post-secondary education in collision repair preferred


  • Ability and willingness to work in a structured environment and adhere to standard operating procedures and processes.

  • Excellent problem solving skills

  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and resolve conflict

  • Able to make independent decisions on repair process, parts and timing.
