The Boeing Company is seeking an

Electrical Technician

for Ground support equipment, supporting F-15 and F/A-18 electrical systems.  The successful candidate will provide real-time operational support and technical expertise in the testing and troubleshooting of a variety of systems.  The support equipment engineering team acquires, coordinates set-up, provides training and produces test procedures needed to successfully overhaul and repairs support equipment.  The support equipment team supports the development, maintenance or modification of system designs to provide documentation of high-level requirements to downstream users/customers. Candidate will take ownership of problems and find resolution for our customers. Must have the ability to work multiple jobs simultaneously while maintaining a high level of detail. Assists in supporting proposal preparation and new business development efforts at our

Knowledge of computer aided design tools and systems (e.g., computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM), computer aided three dimensional interactive (CATIA),

Mentor Graphics, Unigraphics). Able to manipulate data sets, (e.g., compare CATIA to measurement data, create stereo lithography files).

Knowledge of configuration management principles and processes to maintain the integrity of data (e.g., revision level, naming conventions, product identification numbering systems) and numerically controlled media.

Advanced knowledge of design concepts and techniques (e.g., concurrent engineering, Design for Manufacture/Assembly [DFM/A]).

Knowledge of responsibilities and tasks performed by various Engineering departments/disciplines (e.g., design, test, software, technology, avionics). Knowledge of the interaction between departments/disciplines and how their products/processes affect one another and impact non-engineering processes (e.g., Operations, Logistics, Business).

Knowledge of specification format requirements, guidelines, and change control processes. Understanding of relationship between specifications/standards and aircraft/product certification systems.

Knowledge of various engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, and systems. The ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables.

Ability to utilize technological tools (e.g., PC's, web sites) and business system applications to manage, synthesize, and interpret data relevant to workloads, responsibilities, problem identifications and resolutions. Ability to operate relevant personal computing hardware (e.g., personal computers, software, printers, storage media) and standard software (e.g., word processing, graphics packages, spreadsheets/databases).

Ability to determine the process to be used to accomplish goals, properly document processes, know how to organize people and activities, understand how to separate and combine tasks into efficient work flow, identify opportunities for synergy and integration, and simplify complex processes.

Ability to support, lead, and delegate the project team's responsibilities and tasks through all stages of the project life cycle.

Knowledge of electrical engineering and scientific principles; the ability to apply this knowledge to develop, design, analyze, test, integrate, and validate solutions for wire harness and interconnect systems.

Clearance:   This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

6+ years of hands-on experience, including testing and trouble-shooting

Associates degree or higher in Electrical Design and Engineering OR equivalent work experience

Ability to understand detail drawings and teach others

Strong problem solving skills with clear follow-up documentation

Highly motivated, working well in a team or individual environment as needed

Good organizational, interpersonal, and problem solving skills

Strong work ethic and demonstrated sense of urgency for completing assigned work with a history of meeting commitments

Ability to adjust priorities to multiple demands and unanticipated events

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Previous experience in the defense or aerospace industry

Previous experience in Electronic and Electrical Technical design

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.).

Export Control: 

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee


This position is not offering relocation.


Occasional travel may be required in support of the program and customer.
