JOB DESCRIPTION JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY SUMMARY OF POSITION: This individual will assume formulation functional lead role for research and development projects and activities related to new and existing products in parenteral or other dosage forms. The individual will perform all aspects of product development including pre-formulation, formulation, scale-up, technical transfer, and technical support of commercial products. The individual will design studies, perform testing, analyze and interpret data of varying complexity, and make recommendations.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Independently design and conduct pre-formulation, formulation, process, stability, and container closure development studies for drug products.2. Apply scientific fundamentals to solve complex formulation, stability and manufacturing issues.3. Represent the pharmaceutics function in cross-functional project teams. Develop strong working relationships with internal colleagues and external contract organizations.4. Prepare professional technical reports, presentations, and CMC documents for INDs, NDAs, BLAs or other dossiers.5. Evaluate and define functional activities for projects and provide appropriate timelines/resource requirements; executes plans, and coordinate activities in functional area; keep functional activities on schedule 6. Travel to contract research and manufacturing organizations, as required, to support drug substance or drug product development and troubleshooting initiatives. JOB REQUIREMENTSMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :Education/Experience: PhD in Pharmaceutical Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related scientific disciplines, and at least 5 years of pharmaceutical or related work experience in field, OR MS in Pharmaceutical Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related scientific disciplines and at least minimum 8 years of pharmaceutical or related work experience in field, OR BS Pharmaceutical Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related scientific disciplines and at least minimum 10 years of pharmaceutical or related work experience in field.Skills/Qualifications: Strong technical background in pharmaceutical sciences, physical chemistry, polymer and colloid science, and pharmacokinetics. Strong background and experience in development of a wide variety of simple to complex parenteral dosage forms. Must have demonstrated ability to develop drug products from research phase to commercial manufacture. Must have demonstrated record of accomplishments in form of product research and development, patents, and publications.
