Job Description

Our client, a leader in the biotechnology company is currently seeking a Sr. Engineer in Integration and Testing at their Hazelwood, MO location.

Position Description

This is a senior level integration and test position with an emphasis on integration of embedded software, mechanical, and electrical designs into electromechanical medical devices. The individual will work with a multidisciplinary team of R&D engineers to design construct, and execute engineering tests and formal verification tests focused primarily on firmware and electrical systems/subsystems. The individual will collect and analyze data, and author associated technical reports.

Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Write detailed firmware/electrical tests including automated tests using scripting languages

  • Analyzes functional and detailed design requirements for new or revised system functionalities and features and ensures all designs are properly documented and tested

  • Participates in technical design reviews

  • Coordinates with the other technical disciplines the testing activities of complex electro- mechanical instruments

  • Encourages best practices in engineering design and test

  • Mentors less experienced engineers in their technical development

  • Complies with the design control guidelines and Quality requirements within the company’s regulated ISO\ FDA environment

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Well-grounded in engineering principles and test methods with demonstrated hands-on design competency working with complex medical instrumentation

  • Has experience with complex laboratory equipment, engineering test equipment, data acquisition systems, and calibration procedures

  • Basic to intermediate understanding in programming techniques (C/C++/Python) and script writing

  • Basic to intermediate understanding in printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) design

  • Strong troubleshooting skills required

  • Strong collaborative skills required

  • Experience with leading/mentoring teams of up to 4

  • Strong Systems Engineering and integration skills with demonstrated relevant experience over the full product development cycle

  • First-hand experience in an ISO/ FDA regulated environment is highly desirable

Education Requirements:

  • BS/MS in Engineering discipline, or equivalent, with a minimum of 5+ years work experience testing mechatronic equipment, embedded hardware controls, automation or robotic systems. Preference for Electrical Engineering degree.
