PDS Tech Inc Structure & Payload Design Engineer in Hazelwood, Missouri

PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer, in Hazelwood, MO.


  • Supports the development and implementation of production and tooling methodologies.

  • Participates as a member of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) to support the integration of technical solutions across multiple disciplines.

  • Participates in the implementation of manufacturing plans. Investigates technical problems.

  • Participates in the implementation of Lean principles and technologies. Interfaces with IPTs and internal customers to develop products, skills, knowledge and experience.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing drawings, models, specifications, and other technical documentation to ensure manufacturability of spare parts.

  • Building technical data packages for use by suppliers.

  • Developing and implementing manufacturing plans.

  • Analyzing design and build concepts to evaluate a producible definition and investigate alternative solutions to meet producibility requirements.

  • Resolving technical problems that would significantly affect performance, cost or schedule.

  • Consult and coordinate with other engineering teams across multiple platforms and disciplines.


  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry by June 2021.

  • Advanced computer skills with proficiency in MS Office including Word and Excel.

  • Experience with CATIA, Unigraphics (NX) or other 3D Computer aided design tools.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with sheet metal, machining processes and composites, as well as knowledge of assembly/installation processes.

  • Previous experience from professional internships.

  • Formal leadership positions held in work, volunteer or extracurricular organizations (ie. manager, club officer, mentor).

Typical Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
