Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems designs, builds and delivers space, defense and aviation-related systems to customers around the world. Our main products include launch vehicles and related propulsion systems; missile products, subsystems and defense electronics; precision weapons, armament systems and ammunition; satellites and associated space components and services; and advanced aerospace structures.
Experience and skills:
Requires a minimum of seven years systems design and development experience. This experience must include at least three year in the role of technical project lead for a major technical project (or projects), two or more years working in a rigorous interdisciplinary engineering environment developing products or processes using a systems engineering methodology, and strong engineering design and analysis, modeling and simulation, and practical hands-on experience. Experience should also include experimental design and statistical analysis. A minimum of at least five years’ experience with Systems Engineering tools, such as Teamcenter Unified Architecture, Teamcenter for Systems Engineering, DOORS, Cradle, or equivalent, is required. Working knowledge or experience with MATHCAD, MINITAB, or SYSML, is beneficial as well. Must be skilled in all Microsoft Office products primarily MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
Prefer experience in DoD, DoT, or NASA type systems design and development programs.
This position requires attention to detail, creativity, scientific insight, constant learning and knowledge development within a fast paced dynamic environment. High levels of integrity, trust, and teamwork are essential.
Take an interdisciplinary approach to product design, development and implementation, ensuring that all technical resources are brought to bear in addressing technical issues.
Derive and develop system level requirements, Voice of the Customer requirements analysis and requirements management.
Perform functional analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies.
Perform risk analysis, problem identification, and problem resolution, while utilizing risk management techniques to ensure early identification of technical and project issues.
Develop system architecture, and interface control drawings, oversee system integration and system functional analyses, and plan and oversee verification and validation testing.
Conduct design of experiments to assist in establishing engineering solutions, assist with modeling and simulation, and conduct testing to prove design concepts and scientific principles.
Work with cross-functional team to identify and develop new products and processes, and support project management and marketing with proposal activities to help obtain funding.
Communicate effectively formally and informally with government and Orbital ATK customers in presentations, verbal communications, and written reports.
Systems engineering background, preferably working on complex, system-of-systems programs

Bachelors of Science (or higher) from an ABET Accredited Engineering Program
Certification by the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) is highly desirable
10 or more years of experience
Demonstrated experience setting up complex systems engineering tools and programs
Requires B.S. in an engineering discipline such as Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial-Systems Engineering or equivalent or a MS degree in Systems Engineering. Prefer MS in Systems Engineering or INCOSE certification in Systems Engineering.
