Role Summary:

A Field Engineer - Control Systems utilize all resources, and logistics required to perform services and maintenance activities. These activities contribute to, maintain, repair and refurbish sold or existing products.

Essential Responsibilities:

In the role of Field Engineer - Control Systems, you will:

  • Lead execution of retrofit projects

  • Scope of projects includes one or more of the following:

  • Turbine control solutions (Speedtronic Mark VI and/or VIe, Micronet, Atlas, HMI products),Compressor solutions (Integrated turbine Compressor Control), Mechanical solutions (high pressure servo upgrades, valve operators, MHC to EHC systems, others)

  • Process HMI upgrades

  • Process TIL Implementation

  • Execute project management and technical leader duties. Support warranty administration and troubleshooting issues

  • Work at GE and customer locations throughout the Northeast and Central United States (primary) with possible work locations globally

  • Complete service reports, invoicing packages, and other administrative requirements in a timely matter

  • Drive customer satisfaction through commitment to quality

  • Support the business growth initiatives

  • Be responsible for Nuclear control retrofit site planning

  • Manage site execution of control retrofits

  • Interface with Power Services Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university

  • Minimum 3 year of experience in control systemsEligibility Requirements:

  • Travel up to 80% of the time, as required

  • Work overtime, as required Desired Characteristics:

  • Minimum 1 year of Nuclear experience

  • Previous industrial field service experience

  • Ability and willingness to possess a valid driver's license and passport (or able to obtain)

  • Ability and willingness to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings

  • Controls experience to equipment that functions as a "prime mover"

  • Electronics and/or mechanical trouble shooting skills. "Hands-on approach"

  • Computer skills, familiarity with MS Office, TCP/IP configuration

  • Ability to learn other software tool applications to support HMI and application changes (Cimplicity, Intellution, Toolbox, GAP, etc.)

  • Prior mechanical / maintenance experience preferred

  • Solid verbal and written communication skills, ability to read and write English

  • Self-starter with minimal supervision requirement; able to work independently; ability to prioritize, organize work, and meet deadlines
