Schaeffler , a global automotive and industrial supplier, is seeking a Team Leader for the Joplin, MO campus. The Team Leader (TL) is responsible for leading a group of employees with the primary purpose of achieving a minimum of defined KPI goals for their area. Creating a trustworthy environment where employees become motivated is a critical role of the TL. In order to accomplish this the TL is responsible for insuring:A safety conscious, safe work environment;A team that understands the business and the importance of Quality, OEE and Customer Service;A competent well trained group of employees that are biased towards continuous improvement;Proper communication in all aspects relevant to the employees job, and;Proper accountability and recognition for individuals, as well as team, related to production performance of their area.The objective of the TL position is to continuously improve products and processes; Customer satisfaction, productivity and quality are increased; effectiveness is improved and costs are reduced. Standardization is ensured in a consistent and sustainable manner.Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:R esponsible for providing a safe work environment and promoting safe work habits in all employeesInsures all employees receive all require safety trainingResponsible for creating a motivating atmosphere of trust and open communication where:Employees are engaged and actively participating in performance improvementTake ownership and responsibility for the performance of the teamMonitors and evaluates KPI goals for the work area and holds each individual accountable for performanceUses standard shop floor management (SFM) board and tracking sheets as a means of feedback on KPI'sEscalates performance issues by involving PL in all performance related daily meetingsProvides recognition related to performance goalsResponsible for maintaining a competent, skilled work group.Trains new employees using approved training model / material provided by training and developmentTrains current employees related to refresher training/new procedures/new equipment/performance etc.Evaluation of employees - Provides feedback to PL for employee evaluation purposes and is present in meetings where the evaluation is communicated with employeeReports KPIs to management per SFM N.A. regional standardUnderstands the relevant processes of their area and can fill in for absent operators if neededHas high technical skills and can perform changeover, machine set up's and trouble shootingImplements continuous improvement and cost saving activitiesResponsible for shift to shift communication and knowledge transfer regarding priority items, down time etc.Supports in the development and enhancement of training materialOther duties as assigned by SupervisorQualified applicants will have:Technical degree preferred but not requiredMinimum of three (3) years relevant experience as a set up operator or similar roleBroad manufacturing experience, preferably acquired within SchaefflerGood knowledge of production processes, measurement and inspection procedures, production planning and controlMS-Office experienceSAP preferredAbility to manage the required output and lead a teamStrong communication and conflict resolution skillsInternal Schaeffler Employees Only Schaeffler is an Equal Opportunity Employer / Minorities / Females / Disabled / VeteransEqual Opportunity Employerminorities/females/veterans/individuals with disabilities/sexual orientation/gender identity
