This position is responsible to plan, design and develop, deliver and evaluate technical training programs that ensure full compliance with the Company’s safety policies and programs, and existing and future governmental codes and regulations. This role is responsible for the maintenance of training qualification programs for Electric Operations. Using the Learning Management System (LMS), this position is responsible to plan and coordinate training for operations employees and outside entities. Training will include both classroom and on-the-job training and would incorporate both conceptual and hands-on instructional methods. Responsibilities would also include participation in testing and evaluation of new tools, materials, and equipment, the ongoing revision and maintenance of standards, procedures and training materials. The role also conducts field audits, and the certification of field employees. This position requires a combination of technical knowledge and communication ability to effectively facilitate learning to various target audiences and respond to questions from employees, customers, and the general public. Successful performance requires as strong working knowledge of their specific industry (i.e.Electrical Substations including Transmission and Distribution Systems)
The ability to incorporate sound safety practices of company and industry into the training and teaching curriculum. Strong knowledge and experience in regulatory and compliance requirements as it relates to Electric operations
Conducts field inspections to evaluate employee and contractor knowledge, skills and performance to ensure compliance with company and/or regulatory standards
Identify and implements corrective actions to avoid potential accidents and procedural violations
Works closely with management to ensure compliance with applicable State and Federal DOT and OSHA rules related to all program qualification requirements and procedure adherence
Interpret state and federal codes for field personnel, as required and effectively develop and implement training programs in accordance
Experience in using Learning Management System’s (LMS) to coordinate, track and report on employee training
Identify and develop training materials; Pre-work, Trainer deck, participant guide, learning aids, quizzes, exams and hands on modules
Strong organizational ability to plan and effectively deliver training to all levels
Evaluates performance during and after training by conducting follow-ups with students through field visits, observation/coaching and refresher training
Ability to identify and provide follow-up and remedial training for Qualification programs.
Maintain audit able training records
Effectively manage training costs and resources
Ability to function well in a high change environment
Beneficial to have knowledge or experience in E-learning development
Assist in the development of O&M and corporate standards and the subsequent related work procedures.
Open to continuously enhancing their technical instructional delivery and learning new training techniques
Conduct of Training Needs Assessments associated with the introduction of new equipment, procedures, and technology
Participate as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) during the modification and creation of new technical training programs
Mentor other Trainers in the subject matter, content, and course delivery techniques for assigned technical courses
Provides updates and incorporates new procedures and revisions into training programs and reviews work with vendors, technical experts, engineers, field personnel to provide operational input into the selection and operation on new equipment and development of new operating standards.
Able to work and perform in a team environment, collaborate with others, handle multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
Participate in applicable committees associated to the role or responsible qualification program and share knowledge gained with team
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field and seven years progressively responsible professional experience in associated industry of operations management and/or compliance work; or
Degree in field and/or 5 years of related experience, or
Experience or certificate in adult education preferred, or
General education knowledge normally acquired through a high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and nine years progressively responsible professional experience in the industry of operations management and/or compliance work

Technical training experience in Electrical Operations
Proven training design, development and delivery experience
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS)
Strong communication/personal interaction skills
