Schaeffler , a global automotive and industrial supplier, is seeking a Tool Designer - Product Development for our Joplin, MO facility. This role is responsible for design of forging tools and forging department products, design of auxiliary devices.Key responsibilities include but not limited to:Design of forging tools and forging department products, design of auxiliary devices.Charge of forging technique in segment P12, elaboration of technic documentation, meeting technological procedures, work on further development, realization of forging tests, their check and evaluation, ordering of determining tools for forging in development phase, creation of setting plans, monitoring of orders and production status, releasing, participation in complaints solving, observing of all internal regulations, directives and safety standards.Individual tasks Drafting of forging and cutting tools drawing documentation arising from production plan and forging line products.Carrying out changes in drawing documentation acc. to change control system under the impulse of technological improvements in production processCarrying out check and release of drawings for tool and product design worker who ensures his substitutability.Provides expert assistance for tooling manufacturer and confirms usability or uselessness of forging tooling in case of production deviations from drawing parameters.Changes in drawing documentation on technologist or bearing designer request in case that systematic error occurs.Work with design and assistance programs implemented and used in the company (PRO ENGINEERING, AutoCad, Business Flow, SAP R3.)Other activities in accordance with activities description current status in tooling design substitutability matrix.Supervision over forging line operation.Monitoring of orders status with the aim of checking documentation relevance (part drawing, setting plan, product drawing, active tooling) and production status.In case of change realization from last production or non-conformance report evaluation of influence and changes impact on final production from the point of quality, effectiveness, terms complying and taking of measures.Carrying out the tests, their measurement and evaluation.Observance of technological procedures, their modification after approval by headquarters. Suggesting of improvement proposals.Participation in complaints solving, determining their causes, taking measures for their elimination or repeatability minimizing. Supervision over the efficiency of these measures.Observance and carrying out the orders of direct superiors.Special tasks: Responsibility for:Tooling constructionDecision on tooling change serviceTest of tooling drawing and parts listRelease of CAD - drawings (tooling drawings, product drawings)Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) in Engineering from four-year College or University; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
