Goodwill of Western Missouri and Eastern Kansas Data Capture Production Associate in Kansas City, Missouri
This is a temporary, full time position. The Data Capture Production Associate is supporting Goodwill’s visionary project of determining whether computer vision machine learning can accurately identify a clothing item’s size, type, fabric composition, and quality. The Data Capture Production Associate is responsible for sorting and preparing garments for photo capture and capturing photos using image capture prototype provided by our contract vendor.

Sort & confirm all sourced softline items meet parameters determined by the contract
Add defects by needed clothing category i.e. shirt, pants etc. and defect type i.e. stain, rip/tear etc.
Confirm all sourced garments meet parameters determined by defect guidelines.
Sort & prepare defective clothing items for image capture.
Take precise, consistent, high-quality photo of softline items using image capture prototype provided by our contract vendor
Label and store softline items after images are captured to maintain clear, organized records
Move and stack gaylords as needed to access and store products
Maintain a clean and safe workplace
All other duties as assigned by Contract Manager
This opportunity operates in a warehouse and production environment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate verbally and apply active listening skills. For certain projects, this position will be very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Travel
This is a non-exempt, temporary position. Expected duration is 4 months. Hours may vary to meet the needs of the business, including nights, weekends, and holidays. A typical schedule is Monday through Thursday 8am-5pm & Friday 8AM-2:30PM
The Data Capture Associate is a proven leader with the following skills:
Self-motivated to work independently with minimal supervision
Comfortable utilizing computers (training is provided)

Able to maintain sharp focus, even with repetitive tasks
Pallet Stacker training/experience preferred but not required
