Innovate Rehab and Wellness is a leading provider of Physical, Occupational and Speech-Language Pathology services throughout Missouri, Illinois and Wisconsin. Specializing in skilled therapy management, we employ experienced clinicians who utilize an evidence-based approach to treatment and a compassionate approach to the delivery of care. We provide therapy management services to a variety of settings which include: skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, and assisted living facilities. We are seeking a qualified Director of Clinical Operations who is looking for a position with unlimited growth potential in the health care industry.

The Director of Clinical Operations position is responsible for managing all Innovate Rehab & Wellness clinical operations at contracted facilities, ensuring superior and consistent delivery of quality rehabilitative services. This position provides professional leadership and support for 40+ rehab teams across 3 states. With the support of geographically assigned Area Managers, this position assures successful business practices while adhering to established policies and procedures on insurance regulations, compliance, and ethical patient-centered care.


  • Reports to Senior Vice President

  • Ensures efficiencies in clinical operations in collaboration with Human Resources in areas including but not limited to staffing, recruitment, retention, training, and performance assessment.

  • Assures clinical accountability with management data, identifies areas for improvement, and assists in development of improvement plans as needed.

  • Provides advice and guidance from a therapist perspective to staff as needed to assist in evidence-based problem solving, clinical approaches, documentation, and staff management.

  • Generates special reports/data as needed to assist in assessing the efficiency of operations.

  • Prepares for and participates in weekly meetings with Executive Team.

  • Possesses knowledge and understanding of LTC regulatory policies and processes, including Federal, State, Local and payor-specific

  • Stays updated regarding, and prepares clinical teams for, changes in Federal, State, Local and payor-specific policies and processes

  • Responsible for service and operational excellence of all assigned activities to ensure the delivery of quality services and/or outcomes required to meet or exceed the expectations of those utilizing or are impacted by our rehab departments.

  • Supervise Area Managers to assure consistency of quality business practices and rehab services across geographic regions.

  • Assists Business Development with marketing strategies for the company as required.

  • Identifies program development needs of customer facilities and assists staff in implementation.

  • Collaborates as part of Executive Team regarding setting of annual goals and objectives as part of the company’s strategic business plan.

  • Monitors staff adherence to company policies and procedures.

  • Educates staff regarding regulations and oversees adherence to all guidelines.

  • Reviews the quality and appropriateness of the services delivered and of individual therapy programs for effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Collaborates as part of Executive Team to develop/review and implements quality assurance programs.

  • Communicates/interacts with facility personnel as needed, to ensure continued satisfaction with delivery of care.

  • Investigates, follows-up and assists in the resolution of staff, service, and patient related issues.

  • Directs and participates in the scheduling of quality reviews to identify and address areas of regulatory concern and risk.

  • Identifies the needs for support from risk assessments during facility visits.

  • Assists VP of Compliance with ensuring effectiveness of compliance education and training.

  • Analyzes regulatory trends in geographic areas and applies strategies to mitigate risk of repeated issues.

  • Analyzes tools, training, and audits to allow for assessment of staff competency in therapy services for positive patient outcomes.

  • Maintain and encourage positive company culture and responsible fiscal stewardship among employees

Required Experience:

  • Currently state-licensed in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology. We are unable to consider Therapist Assistants for this position.

  • Ability to work out of Columbia, MO office one day a week

  • Minimum of five years clinical experience in a long-term care setting

  • Multi-site management experience required

  • Increased training/experience with Medicare regulations and compliance is preferred.
