Cerner is growing and looking to hire a Manager, Senior Engineering Manager to join our Health Network Engineering group. As a Manager, Senior Engineering Manager, you will manage engineering teams and own accountability for the design and code quality of components, applications, solutions and systems. Some of your responsibilities will include to lead, support and grow multiple project development teams; to create technical vision and strategy for assigned project teams in alignment with the organization’s business objectives; to translate business problems into functional work estimates with interdependencies across project teams for current and future projects; and to partner with solution owner to build solution roadmap.
Some of your people management responsibilities may include to seek to understand disagreements, ensure all perspectives are heard and facilitate a plan for resolution; to delegate the work appropriately, provide clear expectations and follow up to ensure progress and overcome roadblocks. Identify associates and team priorities based on business direction and adjust when needed; to lead by example and share knowledge and experiences with associates and team. Create a respectful work environment where you advocate for your team, create accountability and recognize their accomplishments; and to provide timely feedback to encourage success, ensure accountability, and connect opportunities for your associates’ development. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent, relevant work experience
At least 5 years of experience in software engineering
At least 2 years of people management experience
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent, relevant work experience
- Must currently live in, or be willing to relocate to, Kansas City, MO
