Job SummaryResponsible for providing assistance with engineering services including process development, process support, and/or the design, development, and/pr processing of implants and instruments under the direction of a project leader or manager. Interns will work on project teams, and may rotate within departments or product lines.Principal Duties and Responsibilities-Designing for manufacturability, inspectibility, and optimum cost -Generating prototype models to evaluate new design concepts -Coordinating product evaluation with surgeons -Generating comprehensive protocols for testing/analyzing the product -Generating design assurance documentation for the project -Participating in project teams (meetings, presentations, etc.)Expected Areas of Competence-Good communication, teamwork and organizational skills are essential. -An understanding of human physiology and joint mechanics is preferred.Education/Experience Requirements-Completion of at least the junior year in Engineering discipline. -Programming experience with tools such as Matlab, Fortran, Python (scripting language), etc. -Strong academic record (GPA of 3.0 or better). -Strong verbal and written communication skills.Travel RequirementsUp to 10%Additional InformationRole is appropriate to and intended for a currently enrolled student. Must be actively enrolled in an academic program for the entire duration of the assignment.
