This position is in Kansas City, MO
An Equipment Engineer provides engineering support to the Production and Maintenance organizations for the operation and maintenance of production equipment. The Equipment Engineer assists with new equipment specifications, checkouts, installations, maintains equipment documentation files, develops and maintains preventive and predictive maintenance procedures, leads complex troubleshooting activities related to breakdowns and other reliability/throughput issues, assures compliance with Health & Safety and other regulatory requirements, and executes projects to improve equipment efficiency, reliability, and uptime.
You Must Have:
Must be a US citizen and capable of obtaining and maintaining government security clearance
Bachelor's of Science degree in engineering from an ABET accredited institution
Five or more years of relevant experience
Experienced in reading and understanding technical schematics
Experience working with complex machines and their design, installation, repair, and/or upgrade
Ability to work without supervision, with latitude for independent action and decision making
Ability to provide technical guidance, project management, consultative services, and innovative solutions
Ability to troubleshoot machine problems and determine root cause and appropriate corrective action for machine breakdowns
Experience with maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, upgrading and/or modifying complex production manufacturing or laboratory equipment and automated controls
Significant experience with automated equipment controls including PC, PLC and Computer Numerical Control (CNC)controlled equipment
Understanding of electrical theory, circuits, and hardware applications
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and logic sequences
Machine design experience including modifications, upgrades, improvements, and/or modernization of production equipment
Experience in the use of CAD and/or solid modeling (AutoCad, Solidworks)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Experience in a manufacturing environment
