* Mobile worker, work from home position.

This position requires travel to various vendor locations to perform calibration/maintenance of Honeywell owned equipment. Work involves use of various commercial test equipment, as well as special design custom tester systems.Performing work to calibration procedures, worksheets, and manufacturers manuals.Devises and develops design changes to equipment, components, or systems and prepares related installation, operation, and maintenance specifications, requirements, and instructions; analyzes equipment to establish operating data and conducts experimental tests; analyzes technical proposals and related technical data to determine feasibility of designing new equipment or modifying existing equipment. Responsible for prototype construction and checkout; compiles operational data and prepares customer application information. Performs and analyzes equipment capability. Serves as direct customer interface, providing designs and other services. Serves as team lead in project development and execution. Supports and assists management with organizational initiatives and objectives.

  • Travel to multiple vendor locations to perform maintenance and calibration services on site.
  • Perform calibration and repair activities on commercial test equipment and special design systems.
  • Requires 60% travel, with planning and scheduling of activity 3-4 weeks in advance.
  • Ability to work with engineering on highly automated technical systems, with both commercial and custom software programming.
  • Develops, prototypes, and tests new products, special instruments, and unique equipment to ensure equipment meets specific customer order requirements.
  • Analyzes design requirements and test results, makes recommendations for and initiates design improvements.
  • Installs and integrates instruments and equipment into complex systems, participates in the design and execution of system wide testing and debugging.
  • Compiles cost estimates and delivery quotations, monitors performance, and prepares reports, statistics, and recommendations for management review.
  • Plans and performs testing and development and uses scientific methods to address and resolve technical problems.
  • Determines acceptability of products and materials in conjunction with design agency, quality and other affected organizations.
  • Performs complex special technical assignments requiring significant data gathering, analysis, and systems integration.
  • Represents organization as direct customer interface on all assigned projects to include task or project lead duties.
  • Functions as team lead on one or more assigned projects.
  • Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner and works in accordance with established HS&E requirements to ensure the protection of employees, the public and the environment.
  • Takes actions necessary to "stop" work when an unsafe condition or action is identified.Every employee has the right and responsibility to stop work when unsafe conditions or actions are identified.
  • Must be able to travel 60% of the time.

* YOU MUST HAVE: *

  • Associate's Degree in Electrical/Electronics Technology OR military training
  • Three years of experience in Electrical or Electronics discipline
  • Must be U.S. Citizen; maintain security clearance.

* WE VALUE: *

  • Previous calibration experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and electrical drawings.
  • Experience with Visual Basic and LabView software programming systems.
  • Experience with Fluke MetCal software and National Instruments VXI/PXI systems.
  • Previous experience with diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical/mechanical problems to the component level a must.
  • Three plus years of experience using spreadsheets (MS Excel, Minitab) and other tools to analyze and interpret data.
  • Ability to use tooling, fixtures andprecision mechanical system setups preferred
