Burns & McDonnell Staff Civil Engineer - Power Delivery in Kansas City, Missouri
Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Civil Engineer for our Kansas City office. The Civil Engineer will work within a multi-discipline team to develop efficient and reliable design of Substation and Transmission Facilities in accordance with applicable industry codes and standards. Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
Delivering accurate and thorough designs of a variety of complex structures that will meet industry and/ client standards and codes as applicable.
Perform structural engineering quality reviews of peers and / or sub-consultants.
Performing hand calculations applying proficiency in civil codes and standards
Maintaining and developing good working relationships with Clients.
Monitoring and maintaining project commitments on design projects and coordinating design activities within the different disciplines of the Department.
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from accredited program. Minimum 3 years related experience (completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience). This position requires an experienced and competent individual capable of successfully solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
The position also requires the following excellent written & verbal communication skills, strong analytical and problem solving skills.
