This position is in Kansas City, MO

Job Duties:

  • Applies mathematical, physical science, and advanced Engineering technologies in accomplishing engineering tasks related to Test Equipment Quality

  • Executes projects by interacting with customers, suppliers, and internal organizations to resolve design, development, production, and acceptance issues

  • Participates, influences or coordinates the work of a major project, product or component with responsibility for project objectives, completion dates, and technical specifications

  • Develops and maintains quality work instruction standards for development and production work orders

  • Assists in preparation of comprehensive proposals/cost estimates and negotiates complex statements of work

  • Provides project status updates for customer and management review

  • Must be able to receive technical, project, and administrative guidance and coordination from senior engineers

  • Exercises some latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments

  • Performs failure analysis to identify and implement root cause correctives to minimize development and manufacturing costs of product and equipment

  • Works with leads for initiatives to resolve critical processes and technological-related issues

  • Stays current with relevant emerging technology and business trends

  • Uses business knowledge to evaluate and prioritize business opportunities based on economic and technical factors

  • Maintains cognizance of and compliance with applicable ES&H directives

  • Travel up to 10%

You Must Have:

  • U.S. citizenship in order to obtain and maintain US Dept of Energy Q-level security clearance

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineer from an ABET accredited institution/program is required

  • At least two years experience in a manufacturing, production or quality engineering role

We Value:

  • Existing DOE Q-Clearance desirable

  • Ability to analyze engineering drawings and specifications to develop effective acceptance processes and improve existing processes

  • Demonstrated ability to lead quality improvement projects

  • Familiarity with Six Sigma tools and methodology; Six Sigma certification preferred

  • Effective verbal, written, and presentation skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and to influence others to accomplish complex tasks and solve complex technical problems

  • Ability and willingness to drive change and challenge / improve existing processes
