Bass Pro Shops Production Mold Control 2nd Shift in Lebanon, Missouri

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES ARE:

  • Pull required molds needed at ovens and perform basic maintenance before molds are put into production

  • Systematically perform mold transfers on Intermec scanner per SOP

  • Systematically perform Powder Bucket transfers on Intermec scanner per SOP

  • Open each mold and evaluate condition of flanges

  • Clean, torch, and sand flanges as needed

  • Inspect interior surface of mold for defects

  • Inspect bolts and receivers, alignment pins, handles, and hoist hook for proper function and safety

  • Request services from Mold Shop as needed

  • Record any discrepancies from GREEN tags, if found, and report to Supervisor

  • Assist in critical mold changes as needed

  • Perform Standard Work Audits

  • Understanding basic troubleshooting on a roto-molding machine

  • Motivate members of the team to get maximum production

  • Understanding and complying with the Production schedule

  • Complete mold maintenance forms

  • Recognize and train members on the best way to pull/charge particular molds

  • Recognizing and addressing a mold problem, identifying the fix, communicating this information to other team leaders

  • Assure proper cooling fixtures are used

  • Ability to use hand and power tools and mechanical cranes

  • Ability to use measuring equipment

  • Inspecting parts for conformance to specifications

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks

  • Daily inspection of ovens and communication with other shifts

  • Forklift license required

  • May be assigned to perform other duties as requested

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Continuous lifting of heavy molds in 0 to 35 pound range

  • Continuous standing, reaching, bending, and pushing/pulling

  • Intermittent walking and crouching/stooping

  • Ability to work in a continuously hot environment

  • Must be able to work full time on an ongoing basis

ESSENTIAL MENTAL/VISUAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to read, write, and effectively communicate

  • Good peripheral vision

  • Near and mid-range sight is essential

  • Color discrimination is required

RESPONSIBILITY FOR EQUIPMENT

  • Assuring ovens are operating properly

  • Proper usage of crane

  • Basic understanding of computer entry

RESPONSIBILITY FOR MATERIAL

  • Assuring correct powder is at workstation when needed

  • Assuring raw materials are at workstation when needed

RESPONSIBILITY FOR SAFETY

  • Operate equipment according to safe operating instructions

  • Report every injury to the Shift Supervisor no matter how minor it may seem

  • Maintain a safe working environment for the oven operators

  • Write up maintenance request forms and submit to maintenance

  • Shut down and report any dangerous operations that may arise

  • Report all safety concerns to the Shift Supervisor

  • Know locations and function of safety switches

  • Know evacuation plan

  • Know location of nearest fire extinguisher

RESPONSIBILITY FOR HOUSEKEEPING

  • Responsible for housekeeping at Mold Storage racks

RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORK OF OTHERS

  • Ensure that employees are mentally and physically fit for a good days work

  • Ensure that standard procedures are followed for work instructions, safety, and quality and report any violations to a supervisor

RESPONSIBILITY FOR SAFETY EQUIPMENT

  • Must wear eye protection

  • Must wear safety shoes

  • Must wear hearing protection

  • Dust mask is optional

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma

  • Must be able to read and write

  • Must have basic understanding of product prints

  • Basic computer skills

  • At least 9 months of oven experience

  • Ability to work as a team leader and member

  • Exceptional attendance

  • Exceptional safety record

  • Exceptional disciplinary record
