Essential Functions

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Assurance Specialist will perform a variety of tasks associated with the production and release of finished product and support the maintenance, development, and improvement of the established Quality Systems, such as product certification, document review, release of product, assist with nonconforming material investigations, document control, and other tasks as needed while ensuring compliance with environmental, health and safety policies.


• Participate in QA programs, procedures and controls to ensure that starting materials and finished products conform to established standards • Create material certification documentation • Review and approve quality records and release products • Assist with investigations and dispositions of nonconforming material • Maintain quality databases and critical test equipment • Maintain the document retention program • Draft/Revise procedures, work instructions, and other quality related documents as needed • Assist with maintaining the Quality lab environment so that the area is clean, organized and documentation meets compliance requirements. • Effectively communicate and work with others to build a cohesive team environment • Supports the Quality Techs by performing Quality tests and data entry as needed • Other projects as assigned by management

REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience and Job Skills): • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline with a minimum of 2 years of Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing environment, validation, QA, QC, or other applicable functional area to the job • Able and willing to work shifts / schedules as needed including overtime as business needs warrant • Able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, kneel, stoop, sit, and walk extensively throughout the course of a shift • Demonstrated teamwork – must be able to work successfully and effectively with others

DESIRED: • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Good record keeping and measurement skills • Well organized able to multitask and manage time efficiently • Strong oral and written communication skills • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills • Able to read, write and speak English fluently • Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Email, ability to learn company‐specific programs)
