Job Introduction

This position requires in depth knowledge of all aspects of production scheduling and be a strong nexus between Logistics & Production. Strong Scheduling and manufacturing background is needed.

Major Responsibilities

1.Coordinate and develop production schedules on a daily basis to meet production goals. 2.Check the daily JIT/Release from the customer and translate/communicate interdepartmentally. 3.Schedule by demand forecasting and plan engineering changes by working with all departments. 4.Actively monitor inventory levels to the customer and production to meet customer demand. 5.Proactively troubleshoot with Production and resolve unmet demand windows in real-time. 6.Work closely with the MP&L; team to adjust schedules accordingly when unforeseen component shortages or downtime occurs. 7.Schedule in house sub-assemblies to forecast for final assembly. 8.Scrap/Quality issues impacting the schedule should be escalated to all departments and be able to develop a resolution to overcome the interruption. 9.Assist Production in determining distribution of workforce for capacity planning analysis while reducing constraints to meet demand. 10.Work closely with the Shipping team and communicate/escalate to all departments any potential disruptions to the customer. 11.Ability to apply Lean manufacturing techniques to reduce overproduction/overtime daily. 12.Confirm and validate low inventory levels and not to standard quantities. 13.Develop material flow solutions to overcome customer internal issues. 14.KPI’s, data metrics, and data compilation reporting by day/week/month per shift. 15.Communicate with the Customer Liaison to resolve critical issues affecting the customer. 16.Work with the Material Planners and the Shipping team to determine MIN/MAX levels. 17.Determine rack availability for low running parts. 18.Work closely with the ERP Team and communicate any system issues:

  • Production reporting issues

  • Back flushing issues

  • Customer system refresh issues 19.Follows and supports LMV’s and Magna’s operating principles, including:

  • Supports efforts to achieve department and plant goals on Employee Opinion Survey. 20.Ability to work overtime and other shifts as required. 21.Must be able to support after hours calls. 22.Performs other duties as required.

Knowledge and Education

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Business Management preferred, but not required.

  • 1-3 years of Production experience required.

  • Minimum of 1-3 years Production Planning/Scheduling experience preferred, but not required.

Skills and Competencies
  • Strong Excel Skills required /APICS Certification a plus

  • Must have good organizational skills.

  • Must be proficient in computer operations.

  • Must exhibit high integrity and honesty.

  • Industrial/Supply Chain Management /Manufacturing experience needed

  • Familiarity with ERP/Production reporting/JIT

  • Lean manufacturing knowledge experience needed
