Qualities needed but are not limited to: accurate reading, writing, and basic math skills. Safe operation of all equipment including but not limited to a forklift and overhead crane. The individual must be able to read and properly interpret shop drawings and specifications. The individual will be assigned some or all of the duties below depending on the individual's skill, talent, and training. Must be able to also set-up and safely operate production machines which may include shear, hydraulic punch press, notcher, deburring machine, pneumatic tools, various hand tools such as hand tapper, die grinder, sander, etc. Must have basic tools to accomplish the job. (Bevel square, protractor, tape measure, etc.) Proficiency in shop mathematics with the ability to calculate decimals and fraction figures. Demonstrated ability to communicate and understand instructions and safety procedures provided in English. Ability to learn to read and understand manufacturing planning and precision measurement equipment. Ability to time manage. ie, stack completed parts properly on blocks or pallets to eliminate double handling. Have a proactive, positive attitude, and a strong sense of self-motivation, accountability, and responsibility. Good attendance. Must have the ability to work as a team and be able to communicate well with all levels of employees. Throughout the company. Excellent relationship-building skills are a must. Attention to detail skills is imperative. Must show a proven history of troubleshooting techniques and skills.Show initiative to lead when the situation presents itself WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Exposure to varying temperature conditions on the plant floor Physical strength to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally Good visual acuity EDUCATION : 1-2 Years of Metal Fabrication Experience Shear Operation Preferred, but not required. Ability to pass a ruler test in under five minutes. Ability to read, write, and communicate well. Prior job site or factory experience in construction or assembly functions is preferred.
