Lead Clinical Terminologist
Are you looking to leverage your clinical experience to be a key player on Cerner’s Knowledge and Terminology team? As a Lead Clinical Terminologist, you’ll map and aggregate clinical data across the continuum of care to enable solutions that effectively manage populations. You'll be creating and ensuring adoption of best practices for data standardization across current and emerging clinical terminologies and developing innovative, advanced terminology content and programs for rules, registries, analytics or applications within an HER. In collaborative environment you'll set priorities for development efforts based on alignment with business goals, strategic direction, voice-of-the-customer feedback, timeliness and client commitments. You'll be relied on as a subject matter expert for terminology guidelines and consult with clients, leadership and internal associates. In addition, you'll network and research to increase understanding and current competitive landscape, regulatory and accrediting guidelines, healthcare industry and market opportunity.

Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Health Care, Sciences, Information Technology or related field, equivalent relevant work experience
Registered Nurse, Medical Technologist, or Clinical/Medical Laboratory Scientist Certification
At least 4 years of work experience using standard medical terminologies such as SNOMED CT, LOINC, ICD-10-CM, RxNorm
At least 2 years of clinical work experience
Master's Degree or PhD in Nursing Informatics
At least 1 year of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook work experience
At least 1 year of clinical workflow work experience
Willing to travel up to 20% as needed
Must live in or be willing to relocate to Kansas City area
