Job Description:

.Cerner’s Healthe at Cerner Institute is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to manage associates enhancing and developing solutions. In this role, you will oversee engineering teams and own accountability for the design, development, and quality of components, applications, solutions and systems. In addition, you will be responsible for creating technical vision and strategy for the organization that aligns with Cerner’s business objectives.

As a Manager of Engineering you will develop long-term technical roadmaps to determine continual revenue and/or cost optimization strategies. Along with creating technical visions, you will develop associates through coaching performance, completing performance reviews, goal setting and development planning.

Qualifications:

. Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience

  • At least 10 years of software engineering work experience

  • At least 5 years of people management work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing technical associates at different career stages

  • Strong Ruby and Cerner solution experience

  • Working knowledge of Health + care ecosystem including but not limited to care delivery, payer, health/wellness

Expectations

  • Must be residing in or willing to relocate to the Kansas City metro area

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience

  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
