What do you get to do in this position?

The Facility/Safety Manager is responsible for leading the facility management, safety and physical security activities at the Schneider Electric facilities located in St. Louis (O’Fallon), MO. They will work with the site leadership team, and the Schneider regional facility management and safety teams, to ensure the highest levels of facility management services and excellent safety performance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Facilities Management - Planning & Operations: 50%

  • Oversee the outsourced FM service provider who is responsible for facility maintenance, janitorial, security, food service, etc. Provide direction, governance, coordination to the FM service provider and other contractors. Collaborate with the Schneider regional FM management to ensure that the FM service provider maintains contract compliance. Review short- and long-term project roadmap with FM service provider.

  • Work with the FM service provider to prioritize work requests and act as first point of employee escalation for facility concerns. _Provide exception request guidance for unusual work order tickets. Communicate/escalate to site management._

  • Identify, plan and drive the facilities management project roadmap (including equipment and grounds improvement) for those services/activities outside the scope of the FM service provider. Support/lead FM activities such as capital planning and execution, and other facility-related projects.

  • Oversite of the Energy Management Program, leading initiatives, projects and modeling to help achieve the global energy reduction goals. Prepare for all assessments such as SPS and 50001.

  • Provide input to and review of facility-related financial planning/reporting, budgets, controls and capital expenditure planning. Coordinate with site leadership and the local financial controller.

  • Ensure facility and equipment compliance with all local, state, and federal codes and regulations.

  • Support the local site leader by facilitating the Site Leadership Council operations

  • Support NAM Facilities and Real Estate projects as needed.


Safety & Security – 50%

  • Drive the implementation of Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures at the site.

  • Facilitate/coordinate training for employees in areas such as general safety awareness, emergency response, and life safety.

  • Be trained in Schneider’s electrical safety procedures and specific applicable standards for the lab facilities. Provide training for Electrical Safety training, Lock Out Tag Out, etc. for new hires and engineers with access to restricted lab areas.

  • Ensuring appropriate corrective action is taken where health and safety hazards exist.

  • Ensuring host employees follow established health and safety requirements for visitors at the site.

  • Gathering EHS data and reporting safety metrics/statistics in a timely manner.

  • Promoting a safety culture at the site through ongoing communication of EHS issues/programs.

  • Providing other EHS support as requested by the EHS function.

  • Support incident investigation that includes root cause evaluation, preparation of written report and follow up on implementation of corrective actions.

  • Maintain required EHS plans (e.g. Visitors Guide, Emergency Response Plan, Crisis Management Plan, Evacuation Plan, etc.) in conjunction with EHS.

  • Participate in EHS risk assessments/audits/safety tours of the site and drive corrective actions.

  • Oversee required permitting submissions for air, water, and land jurisdictional requirements.

  • Serve as site contact point for government inquiries relating to EHS.

  • Act as Site Security Coordinator contact for O’Fallon campus. Implement and educate the site on the Global Security Directives. Attend security coordinator meetings, distribute safety/security training and communications to campus, and support NAM Security Coordinators community of practice.

  • Act as main point of contact for security badging – maintain user list, issue and deactivate badges, troubleshoot issues with doors or cards.

  • Maintain site-specific security policies and procedures. Drives corrective action plan on security deficiencies. Conducts the annual site security assessments.

  • Serves as a member of the NAM Site Security Coordinators team contributing to proliferation of best practices, raising questions and the sharing of lessons learned across the enterprise.

  • Ensure maintenance and execution of the Emergency Preparedness Plan, as necessary. Coordinate annual evacuation drill and lessons learned.

  • Other duties as assigned.

This job might be for you if:

Bachelor's Degree orequivalent required with 5-10 years of experience in facilities management. Must have experience in energy savings, building automation systems, security, HVAC, lighting systems, enterprise wide asset management, tenant management, and safety/security. Candidate must be an effective communicator who is self-motivated and drives teamwork. Very limited travel expected. _ _
