SUMMARY

Develops processes to support the Safety Systems Division in their efforts to increase productivity and quality by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Introduce all measures necessary to maintain best possible standards and process-reliable conditions in a highly automated, High-pressure Die Casting process. Responsible for supporting die designs, set-up samples and trial evaluations, including replacement dies or new model dies. Participate in the development and implementation of improvement plans that target cycle time reductions and minimalize scrape. Experience with Die Cast tooling. Ability to manage die design and manufacture of Die Cast dies and all of its components. Conducts activities to assure quick delivery, on-time launch/prototype parts of continually improving quality. Interface with design personnel at development stage to suggest designs that will improve efficiency and reduce cost. Communicate with quality assurance in developing dimensional, ES testing specifications to point out potential high scrap items and deal with them before design in complete.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. S. / B.A.) from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write trial reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY AND PROBLEM SOLVING SYNTHESIS

Ability to define problems, collect data, analyze data and form hypothesis. Must have ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or sketched form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

WORK ENVIRONMENT

We require eye protection on work floor as well as foot protection, and hearing protection in certain areas.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is at times exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
