SUMMARY

Performs product/material testing per engineering standards. Analyzes data and supplies data and analysis in a report that is clear and concise by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Performs preproduction (Product Validation) and annual performance testing.

Performs other testing related to ECI/process changes, or any other special testing required that is not normally done by daily QC inspection.

Performs dimensional measuring of parts to support data submissions to the customer or to verify process improvements or changes.

Reports all results in a clear, easy to understand manner.

Assists in training other quality technicians on correct testing & measurement techniques.

Works closely as a team with production and the quality engineer and manager to provide problem solving assistance whenever possible.

Applies statistical techniques to determine if mass production process is capable.

Maintains documents and records according to departmental and IATF16949 requirements.

Performs basic preventative maintenance on testing and measuring equipment as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Recommended: CMI, CQT, CRE and CQE
