Responsibilities:

  • Oversee bag converting operation with scheduling to meet demand of a stock inventory program as well as scheduling the production of custom made bags

  • Supervise staff of machine operators and quality control personnel to insure that all quality standards of finished product are met

  • Ensure that adequate raw materials and operating supplies are in inventory to support the manufacturing operation

  • Ensure that a safe working environment is provided for all employees, all safety rules are followed, safety training is completed in a timely manor, and all safety records are maintained.

  • Oversee the preventive maintenance program on the production equipment which requires the shutdown of production twice a year, and also maintain an adequate supply of spare parts so that equipment is kept operational at all times.

  • Process all manufacturing orders by costing the bill of materials and machine converting times, issue all raw materials from inventory, cycle count in finished goods, issue purchase orders from sales company , complete sales orders from manufacturing to the sales company and deliver finished goods to the receiving department.

  • Purchase raw materials for the manufacturing by projecting usage for an eight week period. Receive raw materials on a weekly basis and manage inventories based on movement of finished goods.

  • Track weekly movement of raw materials inventory, time utilization, and scrap rates

  • Schedule and procure materials for re-pack of Cryovac shrink bags to Clarity Smart Packs

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.

  • 3+ years supervisory experience preferably in a manufacturing environment

  • AS400, Excel, word, outlook

  • Ability to diagnose and repair packaging equipment

  • Experience running own business or an independent business within a larger organization is preferred

  • General understanding of food packaging equipment including Rollstock machines, and vertical form fill and seal machines

  • Occasional travel both domestic and international
