The Weapons & Missile Systems (WMS) organization in St Charles, Missouri is on a growth trajectory (having doubled the business each of the last two years with further growth projections continuing through 2022). This growth is occurring in both the Cruise Missile Systems and Direct Attack Weapons organization.

Within the Direct Attack organization, the Weapons Simulation sub-team has seen significant growth. This team is made up of engineers from multiple skill areas, as well as a senior fabrication technician, who develop, build and maintain weapon simulators (i.e., bombs-in-a-box) that are integrated into weapon launch simulators and used for weapon system integration testing. In order to execute this growth, the team is seeking a dynamic project engineer with previous experience with the design, development, and delivery of avionics integration and/or test equipment.

The Weapons Simulation Team – Engineering Project Manager will provide project management leadership for the engineering team as well as internal and external resources and customers. Work scope includes development of statement of work (SOW) and estimates to satisfy ongoing and new business requirements, assessment of the impact of changes and events on deliverables, resources, costs and schedules, and modification of execution plans. You will also identify and track performance metrics, and develop plans for risk mitigation and opportunities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate preparation of estimates for new business opportunities.

  • Develop and maintain project execution plans.

  • Track progress and suggest adjustments where necessary.

  • Work with supplier management team to monitor and track supplier performance.

  • Coordinate with integrated scheduling team.

  • Identify risks, issues, and opportunities, and develop mitigation or execution plans.

  • Develop leadership skills and experience

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Ability to obtain Interim Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start).

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • 4 or more years of experience leading teams in a formal and/or informal role

  • Willing and able to obtain a US Government Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated engineering/technical knowledge

  • Cost account management and/or earned value management experience

  • Risk management experience

  • Proficient with Excel, Work, Powerpoint

  • Experience with Microsoft Project also helpful.

Typical Education/Experience:

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
