The Boeing Company Equipment Reliability Engineer (Early Career) in Saint Charles, Missouri
The Boeing Company is seeking an Equipment Reliability Engineer for the Boeing Facilities & Asset Management team in its St. Charles location.
Our St. Louis Equipment Services team has an opening for a level 2 Equipment Reliability Engineer. This role will directly support production and other emergent production facilities and teams as needed at the St. Charles campus. The ideal candidate will be responsible for initiating and guiding efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of critical production equipment, processes, safety and controls. They will also be able to identify and manage asset reliability risk that could adversely affect plant or business operations.
•Works with Maintenance and Equipment Engineering to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and upgraded machines/equipment. •Participates in the development of design and installation specifications along with the commissioning plans. Develops acceptance tests and inspection criteria. •Participates in the final check-out of new installations. This includes factory and site acceptance testing that will assure adherence to functional specifications. • Professionally and systematically defines, designs, develops, monitors and refines an asset monitoring process. •Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations. •Develops and recommends equipment reliability improvements through the application of reliability engineering tools to ensure that equipment operational and maintenance processes are effective and efficient for operations customer. •Provides technical support to equipment maintenance and technical personnel. •Applies value analysis to repair/replace, repair/design and make/buy decisions. •Creates, maintains, and communicates project management information in regards to modify/upgrades to equipment. •Analyzes, revises and optimizes preventive maintenance documentation and requirements •Align specifications and/or designs to assess compliance with customer requirements, equipment reliability, and applicable regulations by applying knowledge of equipment/reliability engineering, practices, and is able to take the appropriate corrective action •Develop and aid in moderate/complex specifications, conceptual and final designs •Performs studies and makes recommendations to improve the reliability and maintainability of equipment and tooling, including evaluation of technology insertion and assists in implementation as needed. •Assists and advises, as needed, for business partner Long-Range Business plan in regards to equipment procurement. •Controls hardware, software and documentation configuration of equipment and tooling to ensure a maintainable and repeatable process and is able to author local work processes. •Reviews work of less experienced employees for accuracy and is able to contribute in areas outside of expertise. •Conducts studies to determine current condition and make recommendation for disposition of the assets including scrap/excess decisions.

Degree or typical experience in engineering or similar classification: Bachelor's and 3 or more years' relevant experience or a Master's degree with 2 or more years of relevant experience.
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Candidate must have a high working knowledge of production machinery and processes. A background in machine reliability, asset management, full-rate production or maintenance is desired.
Candidate must be a self-starter and produce deliverables with minimal supervision.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
