Natoli Engineering Inspection Lead in Saint Charles, Missouri
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assign most qualified operator to train new hires/existing employees on machines
Train employees on cleaning schedule and proper daily machine maintenance
Coach the employee on production expectations
Manage attendance in department
Help develop training materials/tests for the machines in specific areas
Evaluate the employees’ readiness to move on to the next step (skill level)
Assist Human Resources in writing job descriptions for specific areas
Complete reviews on a timely basis

Attend weekly production meeting 8am-9am on production/scrap.
Attend daily production meeting at 7:15 am- take notes and bring up items
Audit quality of parts as a First Part Inspector making sure the part conforms to spec.
Route jobs through department as needed to meet shipping schedule, previous and next operations
Work as a team with other leads/departments to coordinate best usage of people and machines to meet production schedule
Work with Production Management on any specials, process/procedures, special fixtures
Schedule employees to work special shifts and weekends by Wednesday to meet production (backlogging)- Expect backlogs, but do not allow production to get bottlenecked- schedule appropriately
Manage attendance and hours (OT)
Inspect machines/parts for proper preventative maintenance (oil, grease, etc.)
Report any machine issue to maintenance/production
Oversee that all company instruments are maintained properly and calibrated
Keep employees/operators at machines by linking up tools and fixtures for next jobs, work orders, move parts for them
Enforce proper bar coding 100% of the time
Check employee PPE
Check folder daily in production office
Report all non-conforming material to Department Supervisors
Ensure overall department/organization cleanliness
Provide supplies to employees as needed (grinding wheels, cutters, shop towels, etc.)
Qualifications and requirements
Knowledge of machine operations
Knowledge on writing program when necessary
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to comply with paperwork
Must be able to work 2nd shift (3:30pm-12am) Monday through Friday
- 2+ years’ experience in a similar role
Work is performed in a shop environment: air conditioned, exposure to machinery noises. Exposure to coolants, lubricants, possibly abrasive compounds
Physical Effort: Work requires standing, stooping, bending and reaching. Frequently lift, handle and carry trays weighing up to 50 lbs.
