SUMMARY: Inspect and test product for dimensional accuracy and defects to verify conformance to company quality standards. Perform periodic audits to ensure established in-process inspection procedures are effective and consistently followed. Record test data and written inspection reports via computer input and confer with production personnel to determine cause of deviations from quantitative standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety, and Quality Programs related to activities performed for this position.
Inspects and records findings concerning packaging materials, tinplate, aluminum, slitters, bodymakers, flangers, spray machines, ovens, seamers, testers, scroll shears, presses, curlers, liners, end testers, coater line, litho line and other equipment and material used in the production of the products.
Thoroughly inspects product and stops production as required, notifying mechanics and supervision when identifying defective product, while completing all paperwork and records as well as isolating such defective product and properly tagging it.
Communicates with team, production staff, maintenance technicians and management staff as required.
Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
Measures, observes and inspects process and product to ensure product meet quality requirements according to customer specifications.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules drawings, standards, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively verbally communicate with all levels within the plant.
Add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Use a computer including simple keyboarding, using a mouse and opening and closing computer applications.
Ability to use gauges and instruments associated with the inspection of materials and cans.
