PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking an Air Safety Investigator in Berkeley, MO.
Collaborate within a cross section of program disciplines in a very dynamic, fast-paced development and test environment to promote mishap prevention.
Develop and manage safety requirements in a collaborative environment early in the design process through the life-cycle of the product/program, with specific emphasis on test operations.
Perform critical safety engineering activities to support ground and flight test/launch preparation and operations, to include test hazard analyses, development of test procedures, and active participation in Ground/Flight Test Readiness Reviews.
Perform safety risk management activities in a highly dynamic operational/test environment.
Provide flight and ground test operations safety support during testing, to include active participation in pretest briefs/debriefs, after action reviews, and develop Pre-Mishap Plans and notification procedures.
Evaluate customer/operational needs and requirements specifications to develop safety requirements, constraints, and operating limits.
Review engineering design specifications, test operations, change proposals, deficiency reports, and deviation/waiver requests for potential flight test safety impacts.
Conduct periodic safety survey audits and assessments.
Lead/Participate in incident investigations and root cause/corrective action analyses.
Lead/Facilitate aircraft impound investigations Interface with customer and program subject matter experts.
Prepare presentations, analyses, and reports for government/customer safety boards, program design reviews, and test/mission readiness reviews.
Deliver oral and written presentations to peers, program management, senior leadership, customer, and regulatory agencies.
- Technical bachelor’s degree and typically 14 or more years’ related work experience or a Master’s degree with typically 12 or more years’ or a PhD degree with typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
