Burns & McDonnell’s Oil & Gas Practice in St. Louis (Chesterfield, MO) is in need of an Assistant Electrical Designer to perform 3D electrical design for its oil/gas piping projects. This individual will support the department’s lead Electrical Engineers on multiple concurrent projects, while also providing guidance and direction to a remote offshore design team.
Electrical design work will be low- to medium voltage and includes one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematic diagrams, grounding, cable tray layout, area lighting, electrical equipment, instrument location plans, and installation details.
5-10 years’ experience in industrial electrical design, preferably Oil/Gas piping projects -- energy, food & beverage or pharma design experience could be considered.
3D modeling experience for electrical is required; SmartPlant 3D (SP3D) experience is a huge plus.
Must have at least completed a CAD certificate program; Associates’ or Bachelor’s degree in CAD or related discipline preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Must be a proactive self-starter who can work independently.
Experience with global design teams is very beneficial
