WSP is currently initiating a search for an Assistant Engineer for our St. Louis office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively contribute to the overall success of transportation infrastructure projects in Missouri, including projects with the Missouri Department of Transportation, municipalities, and other agencies throughout the State

  • Perform preliminary and final engineering

  • Perform highway geometry design

  • Produce maintenance of traffic plans

  • Perform hydraulic and drainage design

  • Perform traffic engineering analysis

  • Prepare estimates of quantities and costs

  • Prepare engineering reports

  • Provide assistance with the production of plans

  • Utilize civil engineering design software, such as Microstation and GeoPAK

  • Collaboration within project teams and allow for mentor-protégé relationships with more senior staff to help develop your career

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The selected candidate is required to be a recent civil engineering graduate from an accredited engineering program, and have general knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices

  • Understanding and experience of CADD, including Microstation, and civil design software

  • Familiarity with AASHTO and State DOT Criteria and Standards

  • An excellent communicator and team player

  • Ability to work in this country immediately is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • E.I.T. Certification is not required, but preferred

  • Previous Internship and/or coop experience is desired

  • VISSIM and SYNCHRO experience

  • HEC-RAS, XPSWMM, and experience
