U.S. Bank EFCC Economic Sanctions Risk Manager - Chicago, IL or Home Based, United States in Saint Louis, Missouri

This individual will support the Economic Sanctions program with the Business Lines in a Relationship/Risk Manager capacity. This includes the resolution of Audit, Regulatory, Compliance Testing and Self-identified issues. In addition, this position will partner with the Business Lines to conduct and coordinate the implementation of policies and procedures at the Business Line level, provide Economic Sanctions expertise and guidance to the Business line, provide support to the Economic Sanctions Program to complete quarterly risk assessments and risk control self-assessment credible challenge. This position will lead projects, coordinate meetings/responses to audit and exam inquiries in partnership with the business lines, regulators, consultants and legal counsel on various Economic Sanctions, IT and regulatory issues.

Essential Duties:

• Experience with Economic Sanctions or AML program developing, leading and executing formal projects, senior management program and policy initiatives, Develops and implements Economic Sanctions Risk Assessments across all business lines

• Works with the Enterprise Financial Crimes Compliance (EFCC), Economic Sanctions Management Team and Key stakeholders to plan, monitor and drive to resolution all open Sanctions issues (regulatory, audit, testing)

• Ensures the Economic Sanctions department has completed the full scope of work to satisfy the remediation plans on MRAs, Gap Assessments, Risk Assessments and other documented findings within the appointed deadlines

• Recommends and implements improvements to internal controls, the quality program and key risk and performance indicators

• Creates and implements BL Scorecards, procedures and controls over the Economic Risk assessment functions

• Ability to work in collaborative environment with domestic and international business partners to complete assignments

• Assess PRISMS for Economic Sanctions Impact

• Accountable for an effective partnership between the Line of Business and the Lines of Defense

• Facilitate the identification of gaps and drive solutions that minimize losses resulting from inadequate internal processes, systems or human errors

• Ensures the active identification, response and/or escalation of risks as appropriate

• May influence policies and procedures to minimize regulatory exposure

• Accountable for an effective partnership between the Line of Business and the Lines of Defense.

• Travel and overtime as required

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • 10 or more years of applicable experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Advanced knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit Competencies in an Economic Sanctions, AML environment

• Considerable knowledge of Economic Sanctions, or AML audit, policy, process and program management

• Strong relationship management skills

• Significant knowledge in the design and implementation of Program Risk Assessments

• Strong leadership and risk management skills of processes and projects

• Excellent written, verbal and senior level presentation skills

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills

• Excellent Microsoft Application Skills

• CAMS Certification

• Considerable knowledge of business line’s operations, product/services, systems and associated risks/controls within a bank
