Information about Company is available at company's websiteCompany 's Diagnostics and Genomics Group is seeking an enthusiastic, people-oriented Pre-/Post-Sales Field Applications Scientist FAS to provide wet-lab, data analysis, and technical education for our genomics workflow solutions in translational research and clinical laboratory environments. The primary role of this position is to partner with the sales organization and serve as the scientific/technical expert to help drive sales and provide support for new and existing customers in these research settings.Significant hands-on technical expertise in Next-Generation Sequencing NGS applications including, but not limited to, sample extraction, quality control, preparation of sequencing libraries for targeted and/or whole genome sequencing applications, in addition to some bioinformatics knowledge is required. Familiarity with Synthetic Biology and CRISPR based technology is also preferred. Experience working with Company 's NGS genomics products, including technical knowledge of microarrays and qPCR based applications and some familiarity with liquid handling platforms is highly desirable.As the primary technical liaison between our customers and our field sales team, the pre- and post-sales responsibilities for this FAS role include:* Providing scientific/technical consultation to customers in partnership with the sales team to ensure customers understand and use the best genomics workflow and technology for their needs.* Delivering scientific/technical presentations for internal or customer facing events.* Leading hands-on product and software trainings in customer laboratories.* Reporting on relevant activities in the field on a regular basis to local sales partners, management, RandD, and product marketing.* Monitoring technical trends and competitive products in the genomics markets.* Providing remote and/or on-site troubleshooting assistance to customers in partnership with our internal technical support team.* Proactively partnering with sales and technical support teams to ensure customer support needs are achieved in a timely manner and appropriately documented.Additional Responsibilities and Opportunities may include:* Being a key contributor in the promotion of genomics marketing activities at Agilent-sponsored marketing/sales events and/or regional/national scientific conferences.* Providing internal product training to peers and new hires.* Evaluating and providing feedback from customers to management, product marketing, and RandD on products prior to and after their launch.* Interfacing with RandD, product management, and customers to identify and help develop new applications and products that may be commercialized.* Creating and delivering scientific white papers, posters, and/or oral presentations at internal or external scientific conferences that highlight a new application or product capability.* Master's degree Ph.D. highly preferred in Genetics, Genomics, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or equivalent biological field. 1-3 years of Post-doctoral experience is desirable.* Minimum of 3-5 years of practical laboratory experience in a Molecular Biology field. .* Strong technical knowledge of NGS applications including library preparation techniques, target enrichment methods and familiarity with performing basic NGS data analysis.
