Sodexo is seeking a Food Production Manager atSSM Health St Louis University Hospital, a level 1 trauma center, teaching facility with 356 licensed beds.The Production Manager will have ordering responsibilities for our food service operation, including patient dining program, retail cafeteria, internal and external catering services as well as assist in the following areas; food production, patient services, and retail operations.
Food ordering and production knowledge
Inventory systems to support our food service operations
Food production and culinary background
Maintain HACCP and safety standards for the operation
Maintain Sodexo's standards, with inventory, accounting, and reporting processes
Help promote and drive wellness program menus and offerings
Partner with front-line staff to enhance engagement and develop their skill sets
Ability to build and maintain strong client and customer relationships
Integrate fully within our client's organization mission and goals
Must meet (or exceed) Sodexo standards of operations.
Successfully motivates and manages team in a fast paced environment.
Lead the front line staff in providing an exceptional customer service experience every day
Ensure consistency in food quality and presentation to all customers served
This is the perfect opportunity for candidates with high level management experience in fast paced and high volume accounts who may be ready for a General Management role, or who have previously been in a General Management role.
Responsible for inventory management and procurement of food and supplies at an account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the Company. Manages food production through kitchen staff in a large facility. Contributes to account revenue and operating profit contribution through cost containment and safety.
Utilizes Sodexo resources, recipes, systems and programs to direct daily operations including; food production, inventory, product deliveries, invoices, and procurement operations.
Ensures employees have appropriate equipment, supplies and resources to perform their job, and meet goals, cost controls and deadlines as assigned.
Establishes and maintains a safe work environment including both food and physical safety in order to comply with all regulatory and Sodexo standards
Complies with budget requirements by controlling costs (i.e. labor, inventory, equipment, materials) and making adjustments when necessary
Supervises employees by delegating, assigning and prioritizing activities, and monitoring operating standards
Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
