Roles and Responsibilities

The qualified candidate should have exposure to utility standards, the ability to use design software packages, and general construction knowledge and aptitude. The ideal candidate will have been trained to perform Ameren design and be fluent with all design processes and software. The candidate should be able to work in design teams as well as be self-motivated to perform assigned tasks. Because the candidate will be expected to deal directly with clients, he or she must have strong command of the English language and possess good written and oral communications skills. Some travel should be expected.

Required Education/Experience

  • This position requires a minimum of ten years of experience in the design, operation, or maintenance of overhead and underground distribution lines (4 kV through 35 kV)

Desired Education/Experience

  • A two year technical certificate or degree, prior utility design experience, or distribution line work is highly preferred

  • Be able to pass a background check and drug screen

  • Be fluent with SPIDACalc, O-Calc, and Pole Foreman

  • Be familiar with GIS systems

  • Be familiar with EMPRV, Ameren work flow processes, and work order creation
