The Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) organization is seeking an experienced Structural Analysis Engineer (Level 3) to join the Structures Technology team in St. Louis, Missouri.

Structures Technology is focused on discovering, developing, and transitioning innovative structures technology into Boeing products. The position is for supporting advanced prototype developments, as well as, internal and external research and development programs. The ideal candidate would be self-starter, with good communication skills, with the ability to learn and adapt skills to the wide variety of tasks and assignments within BR&T. In particular we are looking for engineers interested in advanced composite structures simulation methods development, additive manufacturing design and analysis, and structural optimization.
Perform advanced structural analysis and documentation in support of both internal and external research and development programs
Lead with structural analysis skills and proficiency with finite element software codes such as Abaqus, NASTRAN, 3DX, some UG and CATIA
Guide others with expertise in metallic and composite structural analysis, and test planning and coordination
Perform analysis such as durability and damage tolerance (DaDT) analyses, static stress sizing analysis, material and structural trade studies.
Plan and execute tasks within constraints imposed by internal and external customer schedules
Develop, integrate, and document analysis results, and be able to review and approve results
Verify structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product life-cycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance
Define and document certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied
Develop analytical models that incorporate structure, aerodynamics, and perform fatigue and damage tolerance analyses to meet defined requirements and support vehicle design
Provide engineering analysis and consultation, and co-ordinate with customers

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
Structural test experience supporting aircraft structures Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with structural analysis of composite and metal structure
Experience with structural sizing, and finite element models/simulations using NASTRAN/PATRAN, ABAQUS, Hypermesh, Optistruct, etc.
Experience in structural testing, testing standards (ASTM), test planning, and advanced data analysis methods
Experience in programming in Visual basic, Python, Matlab, and/or C
ABAQUS experience Typical Education / Experience:
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
