Permanent position: Direct-Hire traveling Superintendent role IMMEDIATELY available with one of the largest full-service construction firms headquartered in the St. Louis area. This person MUST be willing to travel to various project sites throughout the US. Target locations for the initial projects will be Sioux Falls, SD and Toledo, OH.

Responsibilities for the Superintendent

  • Develop and maintain a complete understanding of the drawings, specifications and subcontractor scope

  • Hold pre-activity meetings with the appropriate contractors to review scope, schedule, quality, safety and environmental expectations

  • Work with the Project Manager in developing the project schedule and update the schedule monthly

  • Responsible for supervision and coordination of all job site activities

  • Ensure all contractor activities are coordinated and meet client's quality standards

  • Understand the budget and communicate regularly with the Project Manager

  • Assist the Project Manager in conducting the job progress meeting twice per month

  • Run foreman meetings

  • Work with the Project Manager and Safety Director to develop a site specific safety plan

  • Perform safety audits and coordinate corrections immediately

  • Complete new employee safety orientation for all new employees

  • Climb stairs at job sites, climb ladders up to 30 feet high, and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds

Requirements for the Superintendent

  • 5+ years of experience as an assistant superintendent/superintendent OR a BS Degree in construction/closely related field + 5 years of project engineering experience

  • Completion of OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety Course

  • MUST be willing to travel

  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete all responsibilities
