Boeing Defense & Space, is seeking a mid-career individual to support the System Safety and Environmental Engineering activities on an unmanned autonomous air vehicle.
Support critical system safety work in support of Military airworthiness and hazardous material management activities.
Lead detailed system safety tasks such as system and subsystem hazard analysis, fault tree analysis, sneak circuit analysis, software safety, environmental analysis.
Document hazard analysis and risk assessments (e.g. safety assessment reports, hazard notification, and hazardous material reports), analysis and control of hardware, software, and chemical hazards.
Support design activities to provide advice and counsel on pertinent regulatory, safety and environmental requirements, reviewing preliminary configurations, and strengthening integration of hazard and chemical risk management practices.
Assist with the evaluation of customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements and derived safety requirements, as well integration of technical parameters to assure compatibility of physical, functional, and program interfaces.
Provide relevant input/guidance to analyses for affordability, reliability & maintainability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other quality factors that drive a preferred configuration that ensures mission success.
These tasks are accomplished within a collaborative environment with other Boeing teams and businesses to assist with and/or plan, design, develop and verify a life-cycle balanced system solution.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
Familiarity with operational regulatory requirements (FAA/DOD/DCMA/NAS)
Desired Qualifications (Preferred Skills/Experience):
Experience with MIL-STD-882 requirements
Working knowledge and experience with developing/applying environmental/hazard material management analysis methods in support of NAD-411.
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
