SEYER INDUSTRIES, INC. Mechanical Engineer - Aerospace in SAINT PETERS, Missouri

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our workforce. The candidate should hold a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering and be familiar with the undertakings of aerospace manufacturing. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. We offer competitive wages, practice 5S principles for efficiency and effectiveness in the shop, and work in a climate-controlled environment.Principle Responsibilities:Designing fabrication fixtures, proof-load fixtures, holding fixtures, assembly tooling, and reverse engineering.Mentoring by instructing manufacturing personnel on the application of GDandT.Assisting with the manufacturing floor issue resolution.Assisting Estimators with producibility improvement recommendations as needed.Preparing and presenting material condition reports to support appeals to customer material review boards.Preparing and presenting conceptual designs for potential Intellectual Property initiatives.Conform to all requirements of Seyer Industries Quality System and any and all customer invoked quality requirements (AS9100, for example).Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with 5S standards.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Skills/Qualifications:Excellent communication skills, presentation skills and working with customersDemonstrated initiativeFamiliar with welding, hydraulics, mechanical assembliesFamiliar with aerospace manufacturing activitiesCurrent knowledge of latest manufacturing technologyBasic understanding of metallurgyExperience with reverse engineeringClose attention to DetailConsistent and dependable attendanceSpecific Technical Requirements:Strong experience with, and exposure to, GDandTExcellent skills with SOLIDWORKS and CATIAExposure to, and experience with, flight-critical hardware and components in a manufacturing environmentTooling design experienceExperience with Model-Based DefinitionStrong engineering drawing / specification skills (read, interpret and create)MRB experienceFamiliar with inspection methodsiWe are a small business located in St. Peters, Missouri that specializes in managing, manufacturing, and assembling complex mechanical and electrical products.
