GenevieveOverview:Participate as a member of the Environmental Affairs Team as an Environmental Technician, conducting applicable environmental training, attending and assisting with Pillar Team and Learning Team meetings, and assisting in the administration of applicable environmental laws, regulations and internal policies at Mississippi Lime Company's Ste. Genevieve, MO operations as well as other MLC lime-related facilities throughout the country.Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalent required. Effective communication skills for working with all levels of employees and constituents required, proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Access). Ability to quickly learn and use job-specific technology. Willingness and ability to spend at least 60% of work time in a plant environment.Responsibilities: Assist environmental affairs and facility personnel in implementing and sustaining compliance with Oil Pollution Prevention regulations and Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan requirements by conducting SPCC-related inspections.Assist environmental affairs and facility personnel in implementing and sustaining compliance with National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit and Storm Water Pollution Prevention (SWPP) Plan requirements by conducting SWPP-related inspections, collecting storm water samples, and assisting with water report preparation.Assist environmental affairs and facility personnel in endeavors related to byproducts/waste management and disposal, including hazardous waste, universal waste, non-hazardous solid waste, and process waste by conducting waste-related inspections and maintaining/creating standard waste disposal procedures.Assist environmental affairs and facility personnel in endeavors related to air quality permitting and compliance by conducting Method 9 observations.Assist environmental affairs and facility personnel in endeavors related to Underground Injection Control (UIC) permitting and compliance by collecting water samples.Provide support and guidance for Environmental Pillar Team activities associated with the MLC Operational Excellence system by attending all environmental pillar team meetings and serving as the environmental affairs representative.Lead and provide support for Environmental Learning Team activities associated with environmental incidents.Over time, based on experience and gained environmental knowledge, travel to and conduct environmental training at MLC lime-related facilities throughout the country, including (but not limited to) Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, South Carolina, and West Virginia.Conduct audits for compliance with applicable permits, plans, and Operational Excellence environmental pillar endeavors.Assist environmental affairs and facility personnel in monitoring environmental standards and controls for mining, production operations, and distribution activities, including up to daily facility tours/audits.
