The Supplemental Recycling position performs cleaning, waste disposal, and recycle disposal throughout the facility as assigned. Key Skills and Responsibilities:Disposes of waste and recyclable materials from the production floor and support areas.Operates powered forklifts during the collection of waste and recyclable materials.Operates recycle balers and trash compactors for the bundling of waste materials.Operating equipment in a safe manner always, including following safety procedures for forklift/ manual hand jacks, baler operation, compactor operation, etc.Attends and completes Blood Borne Pathogens training on a yearly basis.Cleans out drains on trash compactors daily, cleans compactor area when it is pulled, cleans, and sanitizes recycle/waste rooms and areas.Cleaning of other plant areas and other duties as assigned.Manages switching of trailers by calling 3rd party venders, including completing BOLs.Follow all required safety procedures, work in a safe and productive manner.Ensure all recyclables are delivered to their designated areas (trailers).Working Environment Work is performed on the manufacturing floor. Potential hazards include proximity of moving machinery, chemical exposure, noise, or heavy lifting. The position may require an individual to stand, stoop, move equipment; bend, reach, or lift for prolonged periods of time. PPE includes safety glasses, hearing protection and sanitary safety toed footwear.Knowledge and Skill Requirements Ability to work various shifts and various times.Ability to learn all functions of assigned production lines in a quick fashion, as dictated by the production rate of the specific line.Ability to frequently lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in cold and hot conditions. Ability to walk continuously.
